2025 5th International Conference on Mechanical Manufacturing and Intelligent Control Successfully Concluded!

On September 6-7, 2025, the 5th International Conference on Mechanical Manufacturing and Intelligent Control (ICMMIC 2025) was held successfully in Tianshui, Gansu Province, China! This conference was jointly guided by the Advanced Manufacturing Division of the Yellow River University Alliance and the Gansu Provincial Society of Mechanical Engineering. It was co-organized by Tianshui Normal University and Taiyuan Institute of Technology, and jointly undertaken by the School of Mechatronics and Automotive Engineering of Tianshui Normal University, the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing of Longdong University, the Peili Mechanical Engineering School of Lanzhou City University, the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering of Tianshui Normal University, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Taiyuan Institute of Technology. The AEIC Academic Exchange Center assisted in organizing the event. The conference attracted numerous experts and scholars from many domestic and international universities and research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Jilin University, Dalian University of Technology, Lanzhou University, Northwest A&F University, the 713th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Group, the 5th Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Technische Universität Mapua, among others. They met to exchange ideas, discuss the latest research hotspots and innovative achievements in the field, providing fresh perspectives and inspiration for future research and practice.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Zuo Guofang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Tianshui Normal University. President Zuo warmly congratulated the convening of the conference, introduced the development history and academic strengths of Tianshui Normal University, as well as its scholarly influence in relevant fields. He elaborated on the background and significance of the conference, creating a favorable academic atmosphere for the event.

Following this, keynote speeches were delivered by Professor Wang Juying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Tianshui Normal University; Professor Lei Yaguo, Executive Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University and Conference Chair; and Mr. Nie Zhengdong, Chairman of the Gansu Provincial Society of Mechanical Engineering. All expressed warm welcomes to the participating experts and scholars and hoped that the attendees could fully exchange the latest research results and explore more cooperation possibilities. They also extended sincere gratitude to all the guests who traveled from afar and wished the conference abundant achievements.

The conference featured reports from five academicians and national-level talents in the fields of mechanical manufacturing and intelligent control, who shared cutting-edge results and profound insights. They conducted in-depth discussions on industry development trends and future research directions. Their excellent presentations not only provided the participants with the latest information but also sparked lively discussions on-site, highlighting the academic depth and influence of the conference.

The first keynote speaker was Professor Chai Tianyou, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, IEEE Life Fellow, IFAC Fellow, from Northeastern University. His presentation titled “Edge-Cloud Collaborative Intelligent Decision-Making and Control Integrated Systems” focused on research progress related to integrated decision-making and control optimization for complex industrial system operations, including applications in scenarios such as the low-carbon operation of electric submerged arc furnaces.

Next, Professor Tan Jianrong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering from Zhejiang University, delivered the report “Key Technologies and Development Trends of Intelligent Robotics” online. Professor Tan systematically elaborated on breakthroughs and industrial application challenges concerning key technologies of intelligent robotics, covering core advances in environmental perception, intelligent decision-making, and autonomous control. He also introduced developed intelligent decision systems and autonomous operational robots, effectively promoting innovation and application expansion in robotics technology.

Following this, Professor Yang Jun, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, presented on “Developing Low-Altitude Aerodynamics to Promote Innovation in the Low-Altitude Economy and Support High-Level Technological Self-Reliance.” Professor Yang highlighted research on technology and equipment for the low-altitude economy, including the construction of specialized low-altitude wind tunnels and the simulation of complex flow fields. He proposed an innovative design for a three-dimensional multi-physics wind tunnel and envisioned its significant role in standard formulation and verification for the low-altitude economy.

Then, Professor Zhang Jun, a national leading talent at Xi’an Jiaotong University, gave a presentation entitled “Laser-Assisted Cutting Theory and Methods for Next-Generation High-Strength Alloys.” Professor Zhang focused on the challenges of highly efficient and precision machining of difficult-to-process high-strength alloys. He introduced studies on laser-assisted cutting mechanisms, revealed material removal mechanisms at high temperatures, proposed laser preheating temperature field control and parameter optimization methods, and successfully developed laser-assisted composite machining equipment.

The final keynote report was delivered by Professor Yan Ke, a national high-level young talent from Xi’an Jiaotong University, on “Design and Manufacturing Technology of Long-Life Self-Lubricating Aerospace Bearings.” Professor Yan focused on the challenges of efficient precision manufacturing of difficult-to-machine high-strength alloys, highlighting research on laser-assisted processing methods. He explained material removal mechanisms under high-temperature conditions, proposed control of laser preheating temperature fields and optimization of process parameters, culminating in the development of laser-assisted composite machining equipment.

The conference invited 36 deans and national-level talents for special invited reports and set up 5 parallel sessions themed around Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing Technology, Laser Processing and Composite Materials Manufacturing, Intelligent Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis, Agricultural Equipment and Bionic Robotics Technology, and Intelligent Manufacturing and High-End Equipment Systems. These sessions shared innovative ideas and practical experiences in their respective fields, providing rich and highly valuable academic content for participants. The event sparked widespread intellectual resonance and deep inspiration, effectively promoting the integration of knowledge and the collision of wisdom between academia and industry.

In addition, the conference specially organized 18 young scholar presentations aimed at providing young researchers a platform to showcase their talents and exchange experiences, stimulating academic innovation vitality. The conference also included evaluations for outstanding young scholar presentations, excellent posters, and outstanding papers to recognize and encourage the sharing and dissemination of innovative research achievements, fostering deeper academic exchange.

With this, the 5th International Conference on Mechanical Manufacturing and Intelligent Control (ICMMIC 2025) came to a successful conclusion. Adhering to the principles of innovation while maintaining integrity and building on past achievements, the conference will continue to focus on forefront fields such as mechanical manufacturing and intelligent control, exploring opportunities and challenges in academia and industry.
